Labelling and Addressing:

Before palletizing, label 2 sides of all individual shipping units or cartons within the skid/s whenever possible. Marking through or removing old labels will help recognize your freight boxes in case your skid breaks during its international ocean freight shipping.

Label 2 sides of each skid. Incluse in your labels a booking number of an ocean freight carrier, and the contact information of your consignee and consigner. The label must contain information such as addresses, names, phone numbers, both at the final destination and origin of your shipment.

Never write anything regarding commodity in your freight boxes. You'll describe the merchandise in your shipping documents which will be submitted to the shipping company.

Weight and Size:

Skids over 2,200 pounds or over 70 inches in height or 119 inches in length or 80 inches in width, may need a prior approval.

Loading and Stacking:

Make sure that weight is distributed evenly. To maximize compression strength, stack your boxes squarely corner-to-corner to the edge of the skid. But don't let the boxes to hang over the skid. To minimize damage to or loss of cartons, keep the top of the skid flat. Never do a pyramid stack. To prevent crushing, place angle board (fiberboard) between shipping boxes. To protect your ocean freight from weather damage, cover the top of skids with plastic film.
